CB (Citizen Band) Radios
Licencing:
- Frequency Range for CB is 27 Megahertz.
- In Canada, Industry Canada is responsible for CB radios
- Licenses are not required, the Radio equipment must be certified.
- Radio operators certificate is not required
Useage:
- Channel 9 is used for EMERGENCIES
- Equipment Required
- CB Mobile radios are installed in the vehicle
- Antenna is about 4-feet in length
- The antenna has to be mounted in the clear away from other metal objects
UHF Handheld Radio
- UHF Radio operate on 469 Megahertz. They are a short range radio.
- No Radio License is required in Canada.
- Two radios can be used, one with the driver, and the other with the person
behind the vehicle directing the driver.
