The radios are on 14 UHF channels from 462 to 469 MHz. The ICOM IC4008A radios have 38 tone squelch codes.
These codes are for filtering out other users on the frequency, so that you only hear the radios you wish too !!

• Only signals containing your group code can open the squelch of your radio, keeping the radio quiet while monitoring for Communications.
• To use a group code, agree beforehand with each member of your party which code to use on one of the 14 channels.
